Blonde is used in car - jacking in Aldridge

A good Samaritan who stoped to help a woman he thought was in distress had his Mercedes stolen in a car jacking scam.

The theft happened in a country lane in Aldridge after he was tricked in to pulling over to help a young blonde woman.

Police are now hunting a man and woman following the attack, which happened last week.

It comes after a similar car jacking in Essington and now Police are probing whether there is a link between them.

The latest victim, who was in his mid 40's,was driving along Crook Lane when he came across a broken down red metro blocking the road.Getting out of his silver Mercedes C220 to help,he was approached by a  blond woman with bobbed hair and a northern accent, who asked him to push her car out of the way of the road.

But as he did, he was attacked from behind by a man and pushed into nettles.

His attacker then jumped into the Mercedes, registration number BF08 FXY,and sped away, while the woman made off in the Metro.

Police are asking any one who witnesses the car jacking,or who may have seen a couple,to come forward.

Ds Mick Hinton of Walsall Police said "This is unusual  incident in a quiet area which is usually free from crime"

Giant snow balls

Giant snow balls of up to 6 foot high and 5 feet wide caused chaos when they were rolled on to two local roads.

Motorists were stuck in queues after driving into the paths of the huge obstacles.Teenagers are believed to be responsible for the stunts in Barry Road,Parkhall and Rookery Lane in Aldridge.

A gritting team had to suspend their duties to remove the snow balls with a JCB digger. After rolling them on to the pavement to un block the roads, the huge machines soon demolished the giant snow balls.
